Fifty Years of Service
John Howard Society of Sudbury

The John Howard Society of Sudbury is celebrating our fifty years of service to the Sudbury community in 2011.  We officially began on December 6, 1960 by serving the men from the old Burwash penitentiary by assisting them with bus tickets to their homes throughout Canada.  Our original annual budget in 1961 was $500.00 !  We have certainly grown throughout the past fifty years.  Dedicated persons such as Rev. Mort Patterson, Rev. Ab Vickers, Rev. Bernard Burns P.P., Judge H. Waisberg, Mr. Frank Southern, Rev. N.A. Russ , Rev. G.W. Wright,  Mr. Frank Day and Mr. Gerry Lougheed Sr. were instrumental in our beginnings.

We welcome everyone in our community to celebrate this milestone with us.  Updates to this page will be made as events are scheduled.  For more information or if you would like to assist in anyway, please contact us at the John Howard Society.

As of now the following events are planned.  Prices for some events may change, so please contact us if you have any questions.
